| The Challenge |

| The JSW Steel has a large volume of Plant Design and Maintenance Drawings/ Documents scattered across the plant. The plant has several units spread over a large area. Each unit has a set of drawings/ documents. With time the drawings and documents, which are in hard copies, is deteriorating. Movement of these drawings/ documents from one unit to another is a very tedious and time-consuming activity. |

| Storage and retrieval of these drawings was a major problem faced by this client. Apart from drawings there were other paper and electronics documents stored in various repositories. The unstructured data was scattered around the plant resulting in loss of efficiency. Timely access to these critical drawings and documents was not happening. |

| PCS Solution: |

| A decision was taken to implement a Drawing Management Solution to solve the problems faced by this steel plant using Hummingbird Document Management System as the platform. They had a large volume of data in the form of papers and plant drawings for various units. PCS has digitized the paper documents/drawings. The PCS services team digitized more than 1 lakh drawings. The documents can now be accessed using Hummingbird Document Management System instantaneously irrespective of geographies. |
